Na pierwszym z nich są opowieści – dobrze skonstruowane, przemyślane, intencjonalne narracje zamknięte w formie książek, wystaw – w układach przeznaczonych do obejrzenia. Anegdoty mówione, chemia emocji, prace edycyjne, wiedza i uczucia.

Ale na drugim brzegu znajduje się magazyn negatywów i stykówek. Całość wraz z pamięcią emocjonalną i faktograficzną. Stały labirynt wszystkich możliwości i wszystkiego, co pozostało nieopowiedziane. Tutaj historia jest otwarta, jak akt mówienia, który tylko tutaj ma szansę upodobnić się do słyszenia. Co więcej, tutaj fotografia to już nie tylko miłość i szczerość, ale także czas. To naturalne miejsce zdaje się nie być już potrzebą opowiadania, a raczej możliwością. I być może najbliższą, jaką znam, aby odwiedzić prawdziwe przeszłe wydarzenia i obecne tęsknoty i fantazje. Wspólnych linijek nie może napisać tylko jedna ręka” - Piotr Zbierski.

Piotr Zbierski (ur. 1987) studiował fotografię w Państwowej Wyższej Szkole Filmowej w Łodzi, gdzie w 2021 roku uzyskał tytuł doktora. W 2012 roku zdobył prestiżową nagrodę dla młodego fotografa Leica Oscar Barnack Newcomer Award za cykl Pass by me. Jego prace były pokazywane na wielu wystawach indywidualnych i zbiorowych na całym świecie, w tym Les Rencontres d’Arles, Łódź Fotofestival, Fotofever w Paryżu. Jego prace znajdują się w kolekcji Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts i Musée de l’Élysée.

“Nowadays more and more I think of photography as the river, on which both banks one stays at the same time. The stories are on the first shore – well constructed, thoughtful, intentional narratives enclosed in the form of books, exhibitions – in layouts to be seen. The spoken anecdotes, chemistry of emotions, edition works, knowledge and feelings.

But on the other bank there is a storehouse of photographic negatives and contact sheets. The whole thing together with emotional and factual memory. A solid maze of all possibilities and all that’s left untold. Here the story is open-ended, like the act of speaking, which only here has the chance to become similar to hearing. Moreover, on the second shore photography is no longer only about love and sincerity, but also about time. This natural location seems to be no longer an intentional story, but rather the possibility. And maybe the closest one I know to visit the real past events and present longings and fantasies. Common lines cannot be written only by one hand” - Piotr Zbierski.

Piotr Zbierski (b. 1987) studied photography at National Film School in Lodz Poland, where he earned a PhD degree in 2021. He presented his works in many countries like France, Poland, Germany, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, UK, Holland, Switzerland, USA. In 2012 he won the prestigious prize for young photographer Leica Oscar Barnack Newcomer Award for his series Pass by me. His work has been shown at festivals in Arles 2012, 2022 and is in the collections of Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts and Musée de l’Elysée.
